Firmware version history:

1904A 2019/04/17
The following feature has been added:
- Addition of T-TC mode (for Tetra Traffic Channel)

Important: This is BETA firmware of which only purpose is for you to test voice decoding of the traffic channels of Tetra trunking networks. For normal receiver use (other than trunking), please use the stable firmware release 1903D.
Note: Possible error messages during the update procedure can now be safely ignored. The receiver will automatically restart the update procedure in case of an error.

To enable this new mode, select the newly added T-TC button in the MODE menu (second page).
Only works in VFO reception. Scan and search for T-TC not supported at this point.
Slot selection is only AUTO. Manual slot selection not supported at this point,
As your target frequencies are probably in the 400MHz area, make sure to use the supplied telescopic antenna, reduced to 1 element for optimal S/N ratio.

Firmware version history:

1903D 2019/04/08
Note: Possible error messages during the update procedure can now be safely ignored. The receiver will automatically restart the update procedure in case of an error.

A SYSTEM RESET is required after this firmware update! (MENU + 7 + left arrow until "system reset" line + ENT)

Feature improvements:
- Power-save function added. To activate it, MENU + 7, then go to page 2/3.
To reduce battery drain, this function cycles sleep/awake state by the ratio 100ms awake / 900ms sleep.
Note: When the power save mode is set to ON, following might be noticed:
Some displayed characters might look thinner than usual.
The first few milliseconds of a signal's audio might be truncated in some cases, especially in digital modes.
During SCAN/SEARCH, power-save is automatically disabled.
For full performance, set the power-save function off.

- LOG REC feature added. To activate it, MENU + 7, then go to page 2/3. (Can only be activated when SAVE TYPE is set to AUDIO)
Logs of audio recordings are written into the wav file. Use the PC utility **LOGEXTRACT** to access the logs and playback related audio files on your PC.

Feature improvements:
- A 30kHz (+/-15kHz, 38.4kS, 16bit) wide I/Q bandwidth can now be recorded on the SD card, and played back on a PC with the popular software SDR# (https://airspy.com/) Instructions on the user manual addendum pdf *here*.
- Addition of a recording type selection in the CONFIG MENU. Toggle between AUDIO, DISCRIMINATOR, I/Q. It is therefore not necessary anymore to add a DISC.txt file into the SD card to initiate a discriminator recording.
To differentiate recording types, recording file names will start with 0 (zero) for audio, D for discriminator and Q for I/Q.

- Search bank link: While searching, unrelated memory content was displayed
- SCAN/SEARCH did sometimes not stop on active signals
- User set selections in the MENU>OPT menu were sometimes not saved
- While in MEMCH/SEARCH mode, "Writing" was not displayed after selecting OPT.PARAM SET in MENU>OPT
- MENU>EDIT: Display sometimes not reflecting user selections

Special utility to assist the firmware update procedure when there was a problem during firmware update, and the receiver's menu and buttons do not respond anymore. Download *here*.

Feature improvements:
- Optional COSPAS-SARSAT distress beacon decoder function added to firmware. (To enable this feature you need to purchase an unlock key at www.pro-sic.fr. Operation instructions will be provided by Prosic.)
- Discriminator direct recording to SD. To activate discriminator recording, open a text file on your PC. Inside this text file type the word "DISC" (in capitals, just the letters DISC) and save this file as DISC.txt. Copy this file to the SD card. Insert the card into the receiver. Whenever the receivers sees this file, it will record the received audio in "discriminator" format (Limited to FM mode, 6kHz, 15kHz and 30kHz bandwidth only). Discriminator audio is an unfiltered signal, also called baseband audio. It is required by some PC applications decoding data signals such as CTCSS, SCA, FSK, RTTY, FAX, Pager data, and trunked system control data, etc... For details we invite you to ask Google.
- WAV file playback now displays playback time stamp, and percentage of total length info. Possibility to fast forward 1.3x, 2x, 4x.
- Fast frequency tuning. Rate of tuning increases depending on how fast the dial selector outer knob is rotated.
- All terminal commands now implemented, except for timer and alarm. The detailed command list will be available online at a later time. However 95% of commands are the same than for the AR-DV1 receiver.
